BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION - Sunday, July 23, 2000

Upon her arrival for the annual Mabry Family Reunion, Betty, wearing a pretty salmon and white checked blouse, was greeted with a pinning by Avis. Avis quickly adorned Betty's lapel with a handmade corsage of matching salmon gladiolus and baby's breath in honor of Betty's birthday. Betty was also susprised with a birthday cake. The candle-wishing ceremony was interrupted by a warm gentle breeze coming across the river and through the trees, however the cake-cutting ceremony went off without a hitch and the birthday girl gave her stamp of approval to the lemon cake.

On Sunday, July 23, following the annual Mabry reunion, Betty's family honored her with a potluck supper at the home of her daughter Sue. It was a pleasant sunny day. All members of the immediate family were there and a few extended family members as well. At times, Betty had to share the spotlight as guest of honor with Sue's cuddly gray tiger kitty Isaac, whose lovey and playful behavior was enjoyed by all.

WEDNESDAY BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

Ann was surprised on her bithday with a delivery of flowers from Belle, Natalie and John. The oversized bouquet contained a tremendous variety of bright flowers of all kinds and colors, including mauve roses, white and yellow lilies, pink carnations, yellow and white wild flowers, blue violets and many more. From the bright yellow lily at the bottom to the brilliant blue phlox at the top, this arrangement caught everyone's eye. Certain that the spoiled cats at home would eat it if she brought the bouquet home with her, Ann was delighted to show off.. errr... share this gorgeous display at the nursing station.

Ann's family feted her on the occasion of her July 2000 birthday. Arriving from the north were Jo, Samantha and Dan. Travelers from the south included the guest of honor, Belle and Natalie. The family converged on the chinese restaurant in St Cloud for a scruptious buffet dinner.  The birthday girl enjoyed watching her three daughters collect into their own world of sisterly chatter, while she shared news of Dan's construction work and hearing about Jo's impending trip to points west with Aunt Pat.  Following dinner, the birthday celebration moved to the parking lot where a tailgating party of gift opening ensued. At trunk-side, Ann delighted in exploring a large decorative gift bag stocked with several new outfits for work.  The heavy item at the bottom of the bag was found to be a package of in-home dry cleaning supplies. Ann was thrilled and rushed home to upgrade her closet.
