It builds fine for me and works on my test mailbox. Perhaps I should
try it on a mailbox that causes you problems. The other possibility is
that one of us has out of date or bad libraries that it's linked
against.

I just built on apple.itlabs.umn.edu.

hypermail-linux: ELF 32-bit LSB executable i386 (386 and up) Version
1, dynamically linked, not stripped

Another option might be attempting to build a static executable and
then moving it to your box.

I'm kind of at a loss because I'm not experiencing the problem.
