Subject: Walkthrough log vs. report

I have heard that several people have questions about the walkthrough "log"
and "report."

The walkthrough log is the raw notes from your walkthrough. It should be in
the order in which you performed the walkthrough (step by step through the
scenarios) and should show that you worked together through the five
questions we covered in class, estimating very coarsely the number of users
who would correctly (or incorrectly) see the control, etc. (nearest 25% is
fine).

The report is the compilation of problems you identified in the walkthrough,
together with how you found them (briefly) and ideas for addressing them
(individually or collectively).

Similarly, you should keep your raw notes from the individual heuristic
evaluations and from observing users in user testing. Remember, the TAs are
trying to evaluate how well you followed the process as much as or more than
the results of the process.
