This is John M. Akre, son of John W. Akre, nephew of Charles Akre,
grandson of Hubert Akre, great grandson of Henry Akre, great great
grandson of Hans Akre and Anne Aaker. In family news: my sister Kirsten is
getting married in Chicago on July 7th. Around the time of the
reunion this summer I'll be in Montana showing and trying to promote my Montana-made movie about genealogy: Butte Magic
of Ignorance (http://www.buttemagic.com)

from an Aaker family member in Alexandria, Virginia. This is Gerald and Deanna
Erickson. We were just back in Minnesota and Helen Pedersen asked me to check out
the web page. I'm very glad that some one has started one. I
have bookmarked it and please keep in touch if there is anything we can
help with. We are very active in the Norwegian community here in the Washington,
D.C. area. It will be great to get in touch with more relatives this way. We are

Since they lived on the Groven farm in Kviteseid and she had inherited Groven,
Anne, his wife was always known as Anne Groven. Their farm across from the Holden
Church was also called Groven. You will find their children listed under Groven in the AAKER SAGAS. |

My wife Barbara and I live in Reno Nevada where I work for a high-tech
startup in broadband telecommunications. I have rather lost most
contact with this branch of my family heritage, as I have been living on
the west coast since I was quite young and in Alaska, Europe and Asia
much of my adult life. I was born in Decorah, Iowa, but can't recall
ever seeing the place. I learned of the Aaker web site from my cousin,
Airis Abolins. I do recall seeing the Aaker name many years ago in a book that my
grandparents had (O.L. Hofstad). |
